Hyung-Tae Kim is a Korean artist who is well known for his outstanding contributions to the videogame industry. Kim is currently an Art Director in NC Soft where he is working on a multiplayer online role-playing game called Blade & Soul, an Asian martial arts fantasy influenced mainly by Korean culture. In his featured talk Visual Works of Blade & Soul, he conducts a tour through the art and visual creation process of this highly anticipated game.

In his talk, My New Philosophy of Caricature, Jae-Dong Park discusses how computer graphics have changed the way of drawing caricature and cartoons over the last decade. He speaks about his vision of how non-photorealistic rendering, an active research subject in CG, can enrich human life. He also shares his passion for art and explains his own approach to drawing caricatures that exaggerate without offending the subjects of his drawings.

Originally a high school art teacher, he started his career as a comics artist in the newly founded Hangyeore Sinmun daily newspaper in 1988. He is now a Professor at Korea National Arts University (KARTS).

The Exhibition is a diverse and energetic showcase of everything Asia and beyond have to offer in this rapidly evolving industry.

The NVIDIA CUDA Workshop is open to all SIGGRAPH Asia attendees. This workshop and discussion forum led by presenters from NVIDIA, Weta Digital, Adobe and other institutions covers a wide range of topics in GPU computing with CUDA. It is scheduled for 16 December, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Khronos standards are fundamental to many of the technologies on display at SIGGRAPH Asia 2010. Attend Khronos Group’s DevU to learn about the new industry standards for royalty-free multimedia development. The event is open to all SIGGRAPH Asia attendees on 17 December, 9:00AM to 6:00PM.

The Foundry and some special industry guests showcase their high-end compositor NUKE, stereo toolset OCULA, creative texture painting tool MARI, and new digital-production hub STORM. Attendees need to register online via the Foundry website for The Foundry’s GeekFest to be held on 15 December, 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

SIGGRAPH Asia 2011 will be held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, 12-15 December 2011. The conference and exhibition will include an Art Gallery and Emerging Technologies Program, the Computer Animation Festival, Courses, Technical Papers, Technical Sketches & Posters, and the Exhibition. Mark your calendar now for SIGGRAPH Asia 2011. The official web site will be launched in December.

The location for 2012 will be announced in the first half of 2011.
