automatic-architecture for conceptual architectural development
Workshop and conference, 15-17 December 2010, Faculty of Architecture, Delft University of Technology organizes jointly with the Computation & Performance research group of the Faculty of Architecture automatic-architecture, a 3-day symposium at TU Delft on the 15th-17th of December.

automatic-architecture is a three-day symposium for real estate principals, architects and students in order to show the use of computational design (specifically Grasshopper) for architectural development by cross-fertilization of knowledge.

The symposium consists of a workshop and a conference.

Each workshop participant works individually on a task within one of the workshop cases. These cases come from the building industry and have been prepared under the auspices of an academic chair. They will focus on conceptual architectural development and planning. The guidance is in the hands of international tutors who have great experience in computational design. During the conference results will be presented back to the principals who will challenge the contestants on their solutions and provide them with appropiate feedback.

automatic-architecture offers room for ten participants in each workshop (working on one of three cases), five students and five architects from practice. This makes a total of 30 participants. Thus, participation is limited. Registration is done via a form that is included on the website (under the heading participants).

Prior knowledge of Grasshopper is not required.

For more information, please visit the website or e-mail the organization: (Pim Marsman) or (Sander Boer).
