PhD Studentships available at the University of Sheffield, England.
Three full-time PhD studentships are open at the University of Sheffield to work on the Rethinking a City’s Theatres, Digital Creativity and Innovation (RECITE) projects. RECITE is funded by the University’s prestigious Cross-Cutting Director of Research & Innovation Scholarship (Digital World) scheme. The key purpose of RECITE is to undertake groundbreaking interdisciplinary research into the challenges of how a city’s theatres, including both spaces and performances, could be digitally mapped, modelled and documented to such an extent that they can be reproduced and displayed on Web-based interactive virtual world technologies that are accessible and useful to a wide range of end-user applications.
The network of 3 scholarships is funded by the University, for 3 years, providing a stipend of ￡13,650 per annum, home/EU fees and a research training grant of ￡1,000 p.a.
